Risky business

Take a bow, Ritik Bhatia and Aishik Naga. The pair of NTU student programmers from the College of Engineering have potentially saved lives in the future with an AI-powered disaster management system. Their solution placed first in a Microsoft competition, winning them a cool US$6,000.

More interestingly, it has been earmarked for real world use, having been picked up for pilot runs by state and national disaster management authorities in India.
